Dinner Meeting:  Environmental Impact of Cannabis Production – Everything you always wanted to know but were afraid to ask!

GUEST SPEAKER(S)

  • Matt Carr, California District Attorneys Association
  • Chris Cox, Environmental Consultant, BeGreenLegal
  • Caz Tomaszewski, Executive Director Calaveras Cannabis Alliance

PROGRAM TOPIC

Last November, California legalized marijuana for use and cultivation in California, subject to State law. The environmental impacts of marijuana production can be substantial, both in rural areas where cultivation was previously illegal, and in more urban areas where crops can create a public nuisance. As marijuana is legalized, what will the environmental impacts in the Sacramento region be, and who will have regulatory authority over this budding industry? What do environmental professionals need to know? Please join us!

This event is organized by the Mother Lode Chapter of the Air and Waste Management Association.  This event may be attended by students and their professors, and interested members and their colleagues.  We welcome representatives of regulatory agencies, academia, industry, community and environmental groups, and the consulting community.
