Facility Tour:  Tour of the UC Davis Renewable Energy Anaerobic Digester

GUEST SPEAKER(S)

  • Katie Chapman, CleanWorld
  • Jessica Siegel, Project Compost

PROGRAM TOPIC

Come join us for a tour of the UC Davis Renewable Energy Anaerobic Digester facility.  The facility is a state-of-the-art system, built and operated by CleanWorld, for converting household yard and food waste into methane, a renewable fuel, and then uses that fuel to generate electricity for the campus.  After the tour we will travel to Village Pizza and Grill and discuss the facility with Katie Chapman of CleanWorld.  We will also have a brief presentation from Jessica Siegel of Project Compost.  Project Compost is a student-run and student funded unit of the Associated Students of California, Davis (ASUCD), made up of 4 student staff and several volunteers.  The group collects organic waste from various locations on campus and also leads backyard compost and vermi-compost workshops for people in the Davis community.
