Dinner Meeting:  Environmental Impacts of Biofuels

GUEST SPEAKER(S)

  • Dr. Mark Delucchi, Research Scientist, Institute of Transportation Studies, University of California Davis

PROGRAM TOPIC

It seems as if a day doesn't go by when then isn't a news headline about the impacts of biofuels on the environment, greenhouse gases, or food and fuel prices.  This is one of those topics where almost every conceivable position has been posited and presented.  Hoping to clear the air (metaphorically speaking) on this issue, we're pleased to host Dr. Mark Delucchi, a research scientist at the UC Davis Institute of Transportation Studies who will speak on the environmental impacts of biofuels.  Mark has published papers on a wide variety of alternative and biofuels over the last twenty years, focusing on the complexities of life-cycle analyses.  His conclusions are always well thought-out, often controversial, and occasionally politically incorrect.

Who should attend?

This event is organized by the Mother Lode Chapter of the Air and Waste Management Association.  This event may be attended by students and their professors, and interested members and their colleagues.  We welcome representatives of regulatory agencies, academia, industry, community and environmental groups, and the consulting community.
